Porcelain or Ceramic?
Be sure to choose the best tile for your project. Will you installation be subject to freezing/thawing? Is budget a factor?
Ceramic tile is a mixture of clays and other natural materials. Porcelain tiles are made up of fine porcelain clays. They are then fired at extremely high temperatures (much higher than ceramic tiles). This firing process makes porcelain tile more dense and less porous, as well as much harder and less prone to moisture and stain absorption than ceramic tiles making it the best choice for indoor/outdoor spaces in climates where weather changes by the hour (read Midwest).
Be sure you communicate all the details of your space to your salesperson so they can guide you to the proper selection(s) for your project!
